About Our Tutor - Annisa Lam
Annisa formerly was a bank executive with HSBC. Her first encounter with Western hand embroidery dated back in 1998 during her stay in New Zealand where she learnt and master different skills from various embroidery artists both in New Zealand and Australia.
After returning HK for good, she set up her own studio DANCING NEEDLES EMBROIDERY 翠藝西洋剌繡教室 in 2004 specialised in teaching embroidery lessons. She was the first to introduce Western Embroidery classes to HK.
Her three-dimensional ribbon embroidery piece - “Black Swan” was awarded the Excellence Award at the 2012 International Ribbon embroidery competition. She the only Chinese amongst all others who won the award. The winning piece was included in the book “Silk Ribbon Embroidery - a collaborations from Artists around the world”.
With endless passion and devotion in pursuit skills in embroidery, Annisa went to Paris to take the specialised professional courses at the world’s renowned school – Ecole Lesage (Chanel embroidery school) and also took courses at International School of Embroidery Art.
Annisa has been teaching embroidery for over 16 years at her own studio. Her vision is to promote embroidery art to let people share the joy and its beauty.
